At present, CORM is no small project to build. Before you can really get started, you need to install a MySQL database, install Maven 1.0.x, and find all of the 3rd party proprietary extensions and dependencies that CORM requires. This requires some expertise and experience.
The project lead doesn't intend this situation to remain the case, however. In the near future, he'll be writing an article on how to get started with JDO 2.0. This article will contain instructions for installing the development and testing environments, integrating your build process with either IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, managing 3rd party extensions and the like.
In the meantime, CORM remains in pre-alpha state and its sole developer will continue to work on it and prepare the ground for more participants.
