A book by Jim Arlow and Ila Neustadt which lays down a baseline of archetypal business models and relationships. These archetype patterns inspired the creation of the CORM project.
The book's emphasis on Model Driven Architecture is all but ignored, however, because of the practical constraints that persistence mechanisms such as Java Data Objects, Enterprise Java Beans and JDBC place on the model. Also, the rise of several declarative logic systems?, rule engines?, and domain specific languages render the book's notions of business rules and imperative role and relationship modeling all but obsolete.
